Description
The ESTUDIO A DISEÑO FINAL TRAMO FERROVIARIO: PUNATA - ARANI (8.2 Km) project is part of the REHABILITACIÓN DEL FERROCARRIL COCHABAMBA – ARANI, which focuses on the recovery and modernization of the existing railway infrastructure between the towns of Cochabamba and Arani, with a metric gauge, intended for freight and passenger transport. For the comprehensive formulation of the project, exhaustive basic studies have been carried out, including: Topographic Survey: Obtaining precise data of the terrain along the railway corridor. Geotechnical and Hydrological Studies: Characterization of the foundation soil, analysis of geotechnical stability, and evaluation of hydrological conditions for the design of infrastructure and drainage. Geological Studies: Evaluation of the geological characteristics of the terrain and identification of associated risks. Road Inventory: Registration and evaluation of the existing road infrastructure that interacts with the railway. Traffic and Load Studies: Analysis of passenger and freight movement patterns, as well as determination of design loads for the railway. Socioeconomic Study: Evaluation of the social and economic impacts of the project in the region. Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Study: Identification and assessment of potential environmental impacts and proposal of mitigation measures. Geometric Design and Variants: Definition of the optimal railway route and analysis of alternative routes. Cost Estimation and Budgeting: Detailed estimation of project costs. Design of Minor Works of Art: Project of the necessary drainage structures. Design of the Railway Superstructure: Detailed design of the railway components. This phase of fundamental studies provides the technical basis for the subsequent development of the definitive design and construction of the Cochabamba – Arani railway rehabilitation project.
