Description
The project corresponds to the final study and design of the Cheka Bridge, located in the Chulumani – Irupana – Sacambaya road section, in the Yungas region of the La Paz department. The objective of the study was to define the technical and constructive characteristics necessary for the future execution of a 70-meter-long bridge, considering the geological, topographic, and hydrological conditions of the sector. Area Characteristics: Mountainous topography zone with irregular terrain and steep slopes. Tropical climate region, with a regime of intense rainfall and torrential stream behavior. Complex geological conditions, with unstable soils and rocky outcrops at variable depths. For the formulation of the final bridge design, the following specialized studies were carried out: Topography, Geology, Geotechnics (including diamond drilling to an approximate depth of 15 meters, with the objective of reaching healthy rock for the bridge foundation), Hydrology, and Hydraulics. These studies allowed determining the ground conditions, structural stability, hydrological regime, and scour levels, fundamental factors for defining the structural typology and foundation criteria of the bridge.
