Description
This project consisted of technical supervision and quality control of the complementary civil works for the Regasification Satellite Stations (ESR) in Ascensión de Guarayos and San Julián, Santa Cruz. These ESR are vital for the Virtual System of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) in Bolivia, bringing gas to populations without access to conventional pipelines. The supervision ensured the correct execution of the support infrastructure, guaranteeing safety and durability. Technical Scope of Supervision The supervision covered the execution of civil works not directly related to the regasification process, but essential for the integral and safe operation of the stations: Earthworks: Control of excavations, fills, and platform formation, verifying compaction densities for equipment and structure location. Foundations and Slabs: Inspection and quality control in the pouring of reinforced concrete foundations for cryogenic tanks, equipment, and containment cubicles, including reinforcement, concrete, and curing. Containment Cubicles: Verification of the construction of leak-proof walls and floors to retain possible LNG spills, in accordance with industrial safety regulations. Circulation Routes and Pavements: Supervision of the formation of sub-base, granular base, and pavement laying (paving or asphalt) in internal areas, accesses, and parking lots, controlling compaction and drainage. Complementary Buildings: Supervision of the construction of control buildings, offices, electrical/instrumentation rooms, and warehouses, including their installations (electrical, sanitary, air conditioning). Perimeter Fences and Security: Verification of the construction of security fences, gates, and control booths. Drainage Works: Supervision of stormwater drainage systems (channels, ditches) to protect the platform and buildings. Hydraulic Sanitary Installations: Control of the execution of drinking water and sewage systems for the buildings. Infrastructure for Detection and Protection: Supervision of bases and ducts for fire protection and earthing systems. Technical Relevance The supervision was crucial to ensure the structural integrity and safe functionality of the ESR. This allows the Ascensión de Guarayos and San Julián stations to operate efficiently, regasifying LNG for distribution to household, commercial, industrial, and CNG networks, expanding access to natural gas in remote regions.
