Description
The agricultural project focused on the production of new hybrid corn varieties for the Caraparirenda community aims to improve food security and increase agricultural productivity in the region. Through an exhaustive study, the characteristics of corn varieties that best adapt to local climatic and edaphic conditions, as well as the needs and preferences of the community's farmers, were identified. The research included the selection of parentals with desirable traits, ensuring optimal yield and resistance to pests and diseases. The final project design contemplates the implementation of a crop plan based on sustainable agricultural practices and the training of farmers on modern sowing and crop management techniques. Field trials are expected to be conducted to evaluate the performance of the new corn varieties, as well as the collection of data on their yield, quality, and adaptability. Similarly, links were established with research institutions and agricultural organizations to facilitate access to resources and technologies that enhance the project's success. Finally, the active participation of the community was encouraged in all stages of the project, from planning to harvesting, promoting a collaborative approach that strengthens social cohesion and local development. The project not only has the potential to improve corn production in Caraparirenda, but it can also serve as a replicable model in other rural communities that face similar challenges in agriculture.
