Description
The project encompassed a comprehensive approach to planning, design, and evaluation in the urban-port area, including infrastructure components, basic services, economic development, and environmental sustainability. The activities developed included urban design and port planning, formulation of policies and port development plans, and the design of port infrastructure works, among which the following stand out: Design of wave protection breakwaters, sports and fishing docks, as well as proposals for territorial ordering and urban-landscape regulation. Additionally, an oceanographic study was incorporated to evaluate the physical and dynamic conditions of the marine environment and its influence on the structural and functional design of the port. In parallel, the project contemplated the development of a Prefeasibility Study for drinking water, sanitary sewerage, and wastewater treatment systems, as well as a proposal for a micro-irrigation system and the design of the urban electrification system. These actions allowed evaluating the technical and operational feasibility of the basic services necessary for the integral functioning of the intervention area. Likewise, the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of the project was carried out, complying with current regulations on sustainability, mitigation, and prevention of negative impacts. Additionally, studies were developed aimed at generating commercial and tourist business units, as part of an economic dynamization strategy for the territory, accompanied by a socio-economic evaluation to estimate the direct and indirect benefits for the beneficiary population. As a transversal component, a Geographic Information System (GIS) was implemented, specifically designed for the project, which allowed the integration, visualization, and analysis of spatial and thematic data, facilitating decision-making in each phase of development, planning, and project monitoring.
