Description
The "Final Design Study for the Second-Level Hospital FECOMAN La Paz" project is an engineering and architecture development focused on the detailed conception of a comprehensive hospital center. This study covered the technical and spatial definition of a specialized medical infrastructure, designed to operate as a second-level hospital. Architectural Configuration and Capacity The design proposes a building with 5,200 m² of built surface area, distributed vertically over six levels above ground, a functional terrace, and two basements for services and equipment. The hospital's operational capacity is projected at 80 beds, allowing for intermediate-level healthcare with hospitalization capacity. Specialized Medical Infrastructure The final design integrates a series of essential clinical and support areas for a second-level hospital, including: Imaging Diagnosis: Incorporates units for computed tomography (CT) and radiography (X-rays), equipped with the necessary electrical and shielding infrastructure for safe and efficient operation. Clinical Laboratory and Sample Collection: An area dedicated to the analysis of biological samples, with spaces for microbiology, hematology, biochemistry, and pathology, as well as a specific area for sample collection. Rehabilitation Area: A space designed for physiotherapy, with facilities and equipment for the functional recovery of patients. Medical Specialty Consultation Rooms: Multiple consultation rooms with adequate infrastructure for various medical specialties, ensuring patient privacy and comfort. Surgical Area: Comprising three operating rooms, with differentiated design for septic and aseptic procedures, minimizing the risk of infection. This area includes an adjacent Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for post-operative critical care and monitoring. Maternal-Child Services: A specialized sector that includes a delivery room, 12 beds distributed in rooms for mothers and children, a nursery for neonates, and an exclusive waiting area. Complementary Areas and General Services The design also contemplates the inclusion of non-clinical spaces, essential for the hospital's integral functioning and the well-being of users and staff: Multiconfessional Chapel: A double-height space with stained glass windows, designed to provide a spiritual retreat environment for diverse beliefs. Administrative Offices: Spaces for operational management and direction personnel. Meeting Room: An area equipped for conferences and training sessions. Cafeteria: A food service for patients, visitors, and staff. Gardens and Green Areas: Exterior spaces designed to provide a relaxing and therapeutic environment. The final design study provides all the necessary plans, technical specifications, and documentation for the future construction and equipment of this hospital infrastructure, in compliance with the current regulations in Bolivia for second-level hospitals.
