Description
This project consisted of the comprehensive Technical Supervision of the Design and Construction of the Interdepartmental El Bañado de Monteagudo Airport (SLAG), in Chuquisaca. The main objective was to ensure execution in accordance with technical specifications, national and international aeronautical regulations (ICAO), and contractual deadlines. Scope of Supervision The supervision covered all components of airport infrastructure, guaranteeing quality, safety, and functionality: Design Supervision: Landing Strip (RWY): Verification of detailed engineering for a 2,000 m long and 30 m wide runway, with a 150 m safety strip on each side. The specification of flexible pavement with a 5 cm asphalt layer was supervised. Taxiway: Review of the design of 69 m in length and 18 m in width for efficient circulation. Parking Platform: Control of the design of 90 m x 90 m for optimal aircraft operation. Passenger Terminal: Supervision of the functional design of an 800 m² terminal. Control Tower (TWR): Verification of the design of 184 m², ensuring visibility and CNS/ATM systems. SSEI Building: Control of the design of 200 m² for aeronautical firefighters, guaranteeing response times. Other Infrastructures: Review of designs for internal roads, signage, perimeter fencing, drainage, and service networks (electrical, sanitary, telephone). Construction Supervision: Quality Control: Inspection and validation of materials and construction processes (compaction, asphalt layering, concrete pouring, network installation). Regulatory Compliance: Verification of the application of construction, aeronautical (ICAO Annexes), and occupational and environmental safety regulations. Progress Management: Monitoring of the physical-financial schedule, identification of deviations, and proposal of corrective actions. Tests and Trials: Supervision of tests (density, CBR, concrete resistance, runway profiles, roughness) to ensure compliance with specifications. Technical Installations: Verification of the correct installation of visual aids (runway, taxiway, platform lights), communication systems, and equipment. Environmental and Social Management: Monitoring of the Environmental and Social Management Plan. Technical Relevance The supervision was crucial to ensure that El Bañado de Monteagudo Airport complies with safety and operational efficiency standards. This guarantees that the runway, initially gravel and later paved, along with the complementary infrastructure, is suitable for the safe operation of aircraft and the flow of passengers and cargo, improving connectivity and socio-economic development in the Chuquisaqueño Chaco.
