Description
In the heart of the arid Salar de Uyuni, we designed and implemented a Comprehensive Drinking Water System for the camps and operational areas of the Llipi Plant, ensuring a secure and efficient supply in one of the most challenging environments in Bolivia. Our project covered everything from the capture of water sources (deep wells and aquifers) to advanced treatment (filtration, disinfection, and reverse osmosis for high salinity), ensuring high-quality water under national and international standards. We implemented storage tanks and an optimized distribution network through hydraulic modeling, all adapted to the extreme climatic conditions and saline soils of the highlands. Additionally, we incorporated photovoltaic solar energy for sustainable pumping, reducing operating costs and minimizing environmental impact. This system not only improved sanitary conditions and the efficiency of mining operations, but also laid the foundation for future social impact projects, bringing drinking water to nearby communities.
