Description
The project consisted of the comprehensive technical supervision of the construction of the 2nd level Police Hospital "Virgen de Copacabana" in La Paz, with an approximate investment of Bs 33 million. Supervision ensured execution according to engineering standards, technical specifications, and health regulations for hospital infrastructure. Technical Specifications of the Hospital The five-story (possibly seven-story) infrastructure over an area of approximately 1,200 m² is designed as a second-level hospital with: Operational Capacity: 80 hospitalization beds. Surgical Area: Two operating rooms with sterilization and recovery facilities. Intensive Care Unit (ICU): Area for critical care. Gynecology and Obstetrics Unit: Specialized attention to women's health. Specialty Consultations: Various medical specialties. Diagnostic Services: Clinical laboratory and X-ray equipment (possibly ultrasound). Emergency Unit: Attention to acute conditions. Scope of Technical Supervision The supervision included rigorous control of: Structural Works: Verification of foundations, superstructure (columns, beams, slabs), and roofing, including quality control of concrete (compression resistance, settlement), reinforcing steel, and adherence to seismic design. Sanitary Installations: Supervision of drinking water networks, sanitary sewage, and storm drainage, with pressure and tightness tests. Electrical Installations: Control of medium/low voltage networks, panels, cabling, lighting (normal/emergency), grounding, lightning rods, generators, and UPS. HVAC Systems: Verification of AHUs, ductwork, and control system installation to maintain hospital environments (operating rooms, ICU). Communication and Data Networks: Supervision of structured cabling, fiber optics, active network equipment, and security systems (CCTV, fire detection/alarm). Fixed Medical Equipment: Coordination and supervision of the installation of equipment requiring specific infrastructure (imaging, medical gases). Finishes and Complementary: Quality control of floors, coatings, and fixed furniture for hospital environments. Regulatory Compliance: Constant verification of adherence to Bolivian regulations for hospital infrastructure and biosafety. Supervision was fundamental to ensuring that the Police Hospital "Virgen de Copacabana" is a functional, safe, and technically advanced infrastructure, guaranteeing quality medical care.
